come out with nine stars, which is a '"superb" rating given by U.K.
Web-site reviewers Isram.net. No one has yet been more highly rated,
not least of all in the food category, where we are listed alongside
loads of big-budget brands!

Ben & Jerry's is
pleased to announce that The Flying Friesian, the wackiest mobile Scoop
Shop in the world, has secured the Institute of Sales & Promotion's
Bronze award for Field & Event Marketing '99.
The Flying Friesian
tour bus, with all of Ben & Jerry's flavors on board, takes a "chunky"
ride around the country visiting pop festivals, sporting events, hospitals,
schools and shopping centers raising money for charity.

Our
first American Award! Critical Mass is an Internet resource guide and
they say of us: "A very nice site, excellent design, clever original
graphics, and your content is informative, entertaining, presented well
and easy to access. A worthy enterprise and a positive contribution
to the Web. Thanks for helping make the Web a more interesting, fun
and attractive place to visit!" Now who's gonna argue with that?
Marketing Awards
Aside
from winning industry publication Marketing Week's prestigious Marketing
Effectiveness Award for the Best Food & Drink Brand of 1999, Ben & Jerry's
Marketing Manager Ian Hills was "extremely chuffed" to win the Marketing
Society's runner-up prize for New Marketer of the Year.
New Media Award
Marketing
magazine set out to recognize agencies and marketers that are using
new media to connect with their customers in a meaningful way--and building
their brands as a result. Their glittering Relationship Marketing Awards
hailed the best in the business at the Grosvenor House in Park Lane,
London and Ben & Jerry's (together with their agency Imagine.net), were
given the Royal Mail Award for Best Use of New Media. Well, we certainly
make the best ice cream in the world and it's nice to know we are recognized
as the best in communicating it to our brilliant customers.
Internet Awards
If this wasn't
enough, our Internet site has also managed to melt the hearts of Internet
Monthly's voting panel by beating major established brands to be their
top food & drink Web site in the United Kingdom. They have since gone
on to applaud us as "one of the best Web sites in the world" in their
February 2000 Review of the World Wide Web.
The prestigious
Webmaster Award from New World Marketing placed our Web site in the
top 2 percent of the tens of thousands reviewed. They particularly liked
the "exceptional graphics as well as unique and interesting content."

We know that you

Ben & Jerry's agrees, too! A topical new publication called The New
Foods Guide (from the authors of the best-selling Green Consumer Guide),
likes what we are doing to keep you informed and have hailed Ben & Jerry's
as a New Foods Star.
This significant
accolade has been given to just a select group of food brands and companies
for keeping their customers in the know. Needless to say, we're delighted
to be recognized and honored to have a New Foods Star award!
